Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy as Leader of the Opposition and adopted the Constitution of Pakistan on 29 February 1956. He came to Dhaka from Karachi at the age of 83 and took over as the Governor of East Pakistan on March 24, 1956.
On April 1, 1958, the central government of Pakistan removed him from the post of governor and he was placed under house arrest in the 1958 uprising, through which he voluntarily retired from his 46 years of varied political life.
On October 27, 1958, Abul Qasim Fazlul Huq was awarded the second highest medal of Pakistan, Helali e Pakistan.
Fazlul Haque died on April 27, 1962 at the age of 28!
On September 30, 1961, he was given a reception by the student faculty of Dhaka University and he was given a lifetime membership of the hall. He did not attend any more public meetings.
He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College on March 27, 1962. He was under treatment for about a month. Fazlul Haque died at the age of 28 on Friday, April 27, 1962 at 10:30 AM He was buried in Dhaka University area after his janaza at Paltan Maidan from 10:30 am on 28th April.
The graves of Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy and Khwaja Nazimuddin are also in the same place of Dhaka University. The tombs of the three of them are known as the tombs of the three leaders in its history
